Tokyo Mew Mew New Anime's 1st Full Video Unveils More Cast, July Debut

The live-streamed "Tokyo Mew Mew manga, debuted the anime's first full promotional video on Tuesday. The video features the song "Cat!! Shite Super Girls" by the cast unit Smewthie. The event and the video also announced more cast and the July premiere for the anime.
The newly announced cast are:

Yūichi Nakamura as Ryō Shirogane, a mysterious, rich high school student who launches the μ (pronounced "myū") Project to defend Earth from aliens
Yusuke Shirai as Keiichirō Akasaka, the lead figure in UMA (unidentified mysterious animal) research who spearheads the μ Project with Shirogane
Kaori Ishihara as Masha, a high-end R-2000 robot
The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and its s in July. To commemorate the new anime, the original manga will have a new edition featuring new cover illustrations by Ikumi. The first three volume will ship on May 13.


The main cast includes:
Yūki Tenma as Ichigo Momomiya
Ryōko Jūni as Lettuce Midorikawa
Momoka Ishii as Zakuro Fujiwara
The five main cast formed a unit named Smewthie, and their first single digitally launched on March 22, 2021.

The anime will mark the 20th anniversary of the manga, as well as the 65th anniversary of Nakayoshi magazine, which originally serialized it. Staff announced the anime in April 2020.
Yoshida and Ikumi serialized their original Tokyo Mew Mew magical girl manga from 2000 to 2003 (with Kodansha credited for the franchise's original concept), and Kodansha Comics released the manga in three omnibus volumes with a new translation in 2011.
The manga inspired a 52-episode television anime series from 2002 to 2003, and published the manga in English.
The franchise launched a new manga series by Madoka Seizuki titled Tokyo Mew Mew Ōre in November 2019. The new Tokyo Mew Mew manga focuses on male characters instead of the female characters of the previous manga and anime.
Yoshida and Ikumi published a new two-chapter manga Tokyo Mew Mew 2020 Re-Turn in December 2019 and January 2020.
