Laws of the Universe Ranks at #3, Macross at #8 in Japanese Box Office

series by controversial religious organization Happy Science (Kōfuku no Kagaku), dropped from #2 to #3 in its second weekend. The film earned 131,468,450 yen ($1.14 million) from Friday to Sunday, and has earned a cumulative total of 424,391,180 yen ($3.71 million).
The film opened on October 8 and sold about 170,000 tickets to earn more than 200 million yen ($1,756,000) in its first three days.
Ryuho Okawa is credited with the original work and as the chief production supervisor for the film.
Uchū no Hō: Elohim-hen is the second film in a planned dub at the Awareness Film Festival in Los Angeles earlier that month.

The film dropped from #6 to #8 in its second weekend. The film earned 38,116,380 yen ($333,300) from Friday to Sunday, and has earned a cumulative total of 177,434,360 yen ($1.55 million).

The "Walküre Senjō no Live Event at Toyosu Pit" had announced the new film in September 2018 and described the film as "entirely new" — as opposed to that year's compiled earlier television anime footage with some new sequences.
The 26-episode ran from April to September 2016, after a preview of the first episode in 2015. Gekijō-ban Macross Delta: Gekijō no Walkūre opened in Japan in February 2018.

The film opened on September 17, and ranked at #3 to earn 137,272,340 yen ($1.23 million) in its opening weekend. The second part will open in Japan on April 22, 2022. The films' trailer previously teased that the films are the "final chapter" for the franchise. The project's tagline is, "Let's go, to the stage of glory."
Eisaku Kawanami returned from previous installations in the franchise to direct the film at Kyoto Animation.
The Free! franchise about the Iwatobi High School Swim Club includes three television anime seasons that aired in 2013, 2014, and 2018. The Free! -Take Your Marks- omnibus film of short stories then opened in October 2017.
The franchise's most recent entry was Free! Dive to the Future television anime series, as well as a "bridge" to the new films.
