Hollywood Monster Hunter Film Reveals New Teaser Video in NYCC

The "Paul W.S. Anderson | Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and a sneak peek at Monster Hunter" at the CAPCOM's Monster Hunter game franchise.
Paul W.S. Anderson reveals the short trailer at 42:08 in the below video. The video features a Greater Rathalos.
In the , Anderson talks about how he discovered the franchise 12 years ago and approached CAPCOM about making a movie about the franchise 10 years ago. He said he is approaching the film not just as a filmmaker, but as a "long-term player and fan" of the franchise. Anderson also reveals in the interview that a Palico, named "Meowscular Chef," will appear in the movie as the iral's sidekick.
The film is tentatively targeting April 23, 2021 for the North American opening date.
The film started production in October 2018, and Sony Pictures is distributing the film in North America, and TOHO is distributing the film in Japan.
