posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the One Piece: Unlimited World Red game began streaming a Trans Town gameplay video on Friday. In the video, the characters Chopper and Usopp introduce the town where players can customize and upgrade their team, obtain equipment via mini games, take on quests at the bar, and more.
The game will have a new One Piece Battle Coliseum mode (One Piece Battle Colosseum in Japanese) which "will closely resemble the latest episodes of One Piece and bring heart-pounding action and glory to the ring as pirates fight relentlessly to earn top rankings." The mode will have a total of 20 playable characters, including Trafalgar Law, Hancock, Buggy, Crocodile, Jinbei, Portegas D. Ace, Akainu, Edward Newgate, Shanks, Donquixote Doflamingo, and Fujitora.
The new multi-platform version is July 8. The PS3, PS Vita, and 3DS versions will be available in physical retail packages, while the Wii U version will be digital-only. An exclusive Day One Edition will commemorate One Piece's 15th anniversary with DLC costumes (for Luffy, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Zoro, Usopp, Franky, Robin, and Brook) and an additional quest, while supplies last.
The game allows for up to four players to play together, and players can explore the world of One Piece with their friends. Players can embark on different quests and battle enemies with many of the manga and anime's familiar characters. The game also allows players to fish, catch bugs, hunt for treasure, and more to develop and train their characters. The game features the original character Red (voiced by TARAKO).
Ganbarion developed the "multi action-adventure" title. The game features Rumi Hiiragi).
The game already shipped for One Piece Film Strong World, as well as an additional Marineford quest with Ace as a playable character.
