Hitsugi no Chaika TV Promo Aired

Fantasy series by Scrapped Princess author premieres April 9 in Japan

Japanese TV station Iori Nomizu, which serves as the opening theme.

Chika Anzai narrates the commercial as her character Chaika:

Chaika: Name, Chaika Trabant. Coffin important. Very important. Everyone, watch this anime! Very important.

The main cast includes:


Chika Anzai (Akuma no Riddle) will play Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin.


Toradora!) will play Toru Acura, a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended.


Yuko Hara will play Akari Acura, Toru's adopted sister and the employed member of the group.

Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere) will play Fredrica (not pictured).

Hitsugi no Chaika's story centers around Toru Acura, a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin and follows her in hopes of finding meaning to his life again. The two travel with Toru's adopted sister, Akari, the employed member of the group and thus Toru's source of income.

The series 4-Koma Nano Ace in 2011.

Tenchi Muyo!) is composing the soundtrack.

Sakaki's other works include Scrapped Princess, Outbreak Company - Moeru Shinryakusha — all of which inspired anime.

Hitsugi no Chaika will Tokyo MX and other channels.
