1st 2 Madoka Magica Films Earn Over 1 Billion Yen

The total earnings of the first and second played in 43 theaters throughout Japan, but received requests from other areas to play the film as well. As a result, 26 more theaters will play the two movies from November 23 to December 1.

The first film has sold about 357,000 tickets, earning about 520 million yen ($6.5 million). The second movie opened one week later and has sold about 336,000 tickets, earning about 480 million yen ($6 million).
