Gundam Trilogy, Sakuran, Yatterman Run in California

The Viz Cinema theater in San Francisco's Japantown will be Anna Tsuchiya, Sakuran tells the story of an 18th-century courtesan who breaks with expectations and tries to take control of her own destiny.

Also screening in April is the food documentary Eatrip, the suspense thriller Gravity's Clowns, and the action film K-20: The Fiend with Twenty Faces. On April 9, MECHA MANIA: Four Decades of Slam-Bang Sci-Fi Robot Anime."

The Japan Film Festival Los Angeles, held from April 10-25, will be screening the 2009 live-action Pooky's.
