Gundam UC 1 is New #1 Anime BD in 1st-Week Sales (Updated)

The first volume of Michael Jackson's This Is It music documentary film is the only Blu-ray Disc to sell more copies than Summer Wars.
According to the Oricon survey firm, Gundam UC #1 also topped the overall weekly DVD ranking chart with 30,000 units. It is the third anime release to top both the overall weekly DVD chart and the overall weekly Blu-ray chart, after Summer Wars and 2008's Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2's first volume.
released the first Blu-ray volume of Gundam UC simultaneously in Japan and overseas with Japanese and English dubbing, as well as Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Chinese subtitles.

Update: Bandai Visual announced on Wednesday that it shipped 75,000 Blu-rays of the first volume of Gundam UC. It also shipped 35,000 DVDs for a total of 110,000 on both formats. Source: animeanime.jp
