This year's 48th issue of tsuke ga Mawaru Mae ni Ketsu wo Fuke" (Big Gintama Exhibition On The Verge of the End of its Serialization: Wipe Your Butt Before You Pay the Consequences).
The 47th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump had teased last week that the 48th issue would have a "big announcement" for Gintama.
The exhibition is being held at Tokyo's Akihabara UDX from December 23 through January 9. Sorachi drew the main visual for the exhibition (pictured above).
The exhibition will include more than 180 pieces of original artwork for Gintama, and will also screen a video. Fans can also vote on the exhibition's website for their favorite chapter of the manga. Those who purchase tickets in advance for the exhibition will receive a T-shirt with the character "Ore" (masculine "I") that Sorachi's gorilla "self portrait" wears, a coat hanger with an image of Sorachi's gorilla "self portrait," and a key chain of the "Patriot" that appears in the manga. Tickets go on sale on November 5.
Weekly Shonen Jump had entered its final arc in July.
